THE WORK
This Montecito home had good bones and a family ready to commit to it fully. We gutted the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry, reworked the floor plan, and added architectural details, built-in arches, custom doors, a redesigned entry, that gave each room a reason to exist.
Spanish style details were honored, not erased. Tile and wood and brass were chosen to age well together.
The goal was never to make it look new.
It was to make it feel like it had always been
this way.
Our clients had relocated from the Midwest with a life's worth of art, furniture, and memory. The house needed to meet them where they were.
We updated the entry, dining room, den, and great room, painting ceilings, changing out the backsplash, replacing drapery and furnishings, to create a lightness that still held everything they had carried with them.
Their children's artwork was framed and hung.Family heirlooms were worked into every room. Nothing from the old life was lost.
A mid century ranch home refreshed through
careful editing rather than replacement. We
reupholstered sofas, had slipcovers made, andsourced a period credenza for added storage, working always from what the client already loved.
Colors were drawn from the vintage rugs.
Personal collections were styled throughout.
The home ended up feeling more like itself
than it ever had before.
