An Autumn Aesthetic

As school gets back into full swing there’s a palpable shift in the air. It’s that time of year when we pull out our sweaters in 60-degree weather and order pumpkin spice lattes because it just feels right. Fall arrives with a promise of orange and red hues and although we might not see the leaves change, we can see the season change in Trader Joe’s when they break out their pumpkin oat milk and warm apple cinnamon candles. As an avid lover of the season, I’ve decided to share a few of my favorite things that only are in style this time of year – enjoy!

Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

Here me out; as much as I love a classic pumpkin spice latte, I’ve been inspired to try the new pumpkin cream cold brew and I can’t get enough of it. Imagine this thick layer of pumpkiny goodness over a rich and dark cold brew- such a good drink for our shoulder season in between the warmer and cooler months. Recently, I’ve even been tempted to try my hand at making it at home. But, if you’re in the mood for a classic and don’t have time to make it yourself, sip local and swing by Handlbar on your way to the office or after dropping the kiddos off at school for their pumpkin spice latte – an absolute must!

Cloves, Sweet Apple + Cinnamon Candles

No matter the season, candles are always a hit. They have the ability to transform an entire space, draw out memories, or fake the smell of freshly baked apple pie. My favorite scents this season are cloves, sweet apples, and cinnamon – classics that immediately turn your home into a cozy, soothing, and warm environment, perfect for hosting dinner or snuggling up to watch a movie with the family. Incorporating these scents into your home not only evokes the spirit of fall but also leaves a lasting impression on anyone who steps inside, creating an ambiance that’s impossible to resist.

Pumpkin Brioche from Trader Joe’s

Few things beat the joy of biting into a slice of Pumpkin Brioche on a chilly morning. Its warm, pumpkin-infused goodness fills your home with a sense of contentment and nostalgia, reminding you of cozy family gatherings and holiday feasts. A slice of this autumn delicacy paired with some creamy irish butter is like a warm hug for your taste buds, and sharing it with loved ones can make your home the heart of seasonal gatherings. Try it by itself or make a pumpkin french toast and let me know what you think!

Scented Handwashes

Swapping out your regular handwash for one with a warm and inviting fall scent transforms your daily rituals into moments of sensory delight. It’s a small change that can bring a touch of autumn into every corner of your home. They not only elevate your personal hygiene routine but also leave an aromatic trail of fall in your home and on your hands.

Although the autumn aesthetic stands as my favorite time of year, I view this season as more than just a visual delight. It’s a timeless embrace of comfort and tradition that has the power to bring even strangers closer. It gently reminds us that amid life’s daily rush, we can always find solace and beauty in the small, fleeting moments—whether it’s sipping a pumpkin-spiced beverage, breathing in the soothing scent of autumn candles, or sharing those precious moments with our kids as we DIY their Halloween costumes. My wish is that, as you welcome this season of transformation, these simple pleasures will envelop your home in warmth and nostalgia, much like they do in mine.
